Community investment efforts in Baton Rouge are being recognized through a local award highlighting contributions to public spaces, youth programs, and overall community well-being.
Louisiana Healthcare Connections was honored with the 2022 LEAF Award by the Baton Rouge Recreation Commission Foundation. The award recognizes organizations that have made a meaningful impact through leadership, excellence, activism, and fellowship.
“By investing in organizations that share a passion for healthy communities, Louisiana Healthcare Connections is helping build strong connections,” said Bryan Camerlinck, President of the BREC Foundation Board. “We are grateful for their continued efforts to make a difference.”
Support has included contributions to community initiatives such as fundraising efforts, holiday campaigns, and summer camp assistance. Funding has also supported projects like the Scotlandville disc golf course, helping expand recreational opportunities in the area.
As part of the recognition, a $1,000 contribution is directed toward a BREC program of the recipient’s choice. This year’s selection supports the “Send A Kid to Camp” initiative, which helps provide access to summer programs for local youth.
“Community partners like the BREC Foundation play an important role in supporting families and strengthening quality of life,” said Chris Adams, Vice President of Legislative and Government Affairs at Louisiana Healthcare Connections. “We are proud to support efforts that create healthier, more vibrant communities.”
By investing in local programs and partnerships, these efforts continue to enhance access to recreation, support youth development, and contribute to the overall well-being of Baton Rouge communities.
