Families in Plaquemine will have the opportunity to access free health services and community resources during a holiday-themed event focused on wellness and connection. The Holiday Health Care-A-Van event will take place on December 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the City of Plaquemine Activity Center Gym. Designed to be both informative and family-friendly, the event brings together health screenings, education, and activities in a festive setting.
Attendees can receive a variety of free health services, including COVID and flu vaccinations, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, cancer screenings, and fluoride varnish applications for children. CPR and AED demonstrations will also be available, along with screenings focused on healthy aging.
In addition to clinical services, participants can access information and resources related to maternal health, mental health, opioid addiction, domestic violence support, and workforce development.
“We are excited to bring this event to Plaquemine and connect community members with important health resources,” said Tanzel Montgomery, Community Relations Manager at Louisiana Healthcare Connections. “This is an opportunity to support both wellness and community engagement during the holiday season.”
The event will also include interactive and family-friendly activities such as Zumba, face painting, and massages. Food, prizes, and giveaways will be available, along with a passport activity that allows participants to earn rewards by completing health screenings.
This free event is open to the public and offers a welcoming space for families to come together, learn about available resources, and take steps toward better health.
