As Men’s Health Month concludes, attention remains focused on the importance of preventive care and early detection of serious health conditions.
Colorectal cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among men in the United States. When detected early through routine screenings, treatment is often more effective and outcomes improve significantly. Despite this, many men delay or avoid recommended screenings.
“Preventive screenings save lives,” said Dr. Stewart Gordon, Chief Medical Officer of Louisiana Healthcare Connections. “Regular colorectal cancer screenings allow issues to be identified early, when treatment is most effective.”
Men are encouraged to talk with their healthcare providers about screening options, which may include stool-based tests, sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy depending on individual risk factors and preferences.
Preventive care plays a key role in supporting long-term health and reducing the burden of serious disease. Raising awareness during Men’s Health Month helps reinforce the importance of routine screenings and proactive health management.
