Residents in Baton Rouge are gaining access to free healthcare services through a community clinic designed to meet a wide range of medical needs.
A free clinic will take place on February 17 at the Louisiana Leadership Institute, offering medical, dental, and vision services at no cost. The event is open to individuals and families in need of care, with no appointment or insurance required.
Services available at the clinic include eye exams and prescription glasses, dental cleanings, fillings, and extractions, as well as general medical exams, chronic disease care, and access to prescription medications.
“Preventive care, vision, and dental health play a critical role in overall well-being,” said Dr. Stewart Gordon, Chief Medical Officer of Louisiana Healthcare Connections. “This clinic is an important way to reach individuals who may not otherwise have access to care, and we are proud to support the volunteers and partners who make it possible.”
The clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no identification or insurance required. Mammogram appointments may be scheduled in advance for those who need them.
Events like this help reduce barriers to care by bringing services directly into the community, ensuring individuals can access essential healthcare in a convenient and supportive setting.
By supporting initiatives like this, efforts continue to expand access to care and improve health outcomes for individuals and families across Baton Rouge.
