Building the Workforce Louisiana Needs

Louisiana’s health care system faces a growing shortage of skilled workers. Through education partnerships and workforce investments, we are working to change that.

In 2023, in partnership with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, we committed $500,000 each to Bossier Parish Community College and Delgado Community College to strengthen health care training programs.

In 2024, we expanded that work through a research fellowship and pipeline initiative with Xavier University, pairing faculty and students on collaborative research projects funded at $16,250 per team.

Funding Health Where It Matters Most

Through our Community Health Grants program, we fund initiatives that expand access to care, strengthen preventive services, and address social drivers of health affecting Louisiana’s Medicaid population.

Grant funding supports initiatives focused on preventive care, strengthening Medicaid provider capacity, and addressing social drivers of health, including food access, chronic disease management, maternal health, and workforce development.
